Privacy policy
How International Business Council Conferences & Exhibitions collects your personal data, why, for how long, and your rights under Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law No. 13 of 2016.
What we collect
When you send a request or message: name, organisation, email, phone, country and the request details, together with the page it was sent from and campaign identifiers (UTM) when present. When you register for the members portal: the professional profile data you enter yourself. We never ask for passport or ID images through public forms.
Why we process it
To answer and fulfil your request, to manage membership, events and sponsorship, and to send event invitations only where you explicitly opt in. The legal basis is your explicit consent on each form and the performance of what you ask for.
Members directory
No member appears in the directory without a separate consent they activate themselves; the listing is limited to name, title, organisation and photo and is visible to signed-in members only. No personal email or phone is published, and introductions between members go through the council.
Retention
Requests and messages are kept for 24 months from the last contact and then deleted; membership data is kept for the duration of membership and one year after, unless the member asks for earlier deletion.
Your rights
You may access, correct, delete or withdraw consent at any time by writing to [email protected]. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days, and any breach affecting your data is reported within 72 hours of discovery as the law requires.
Cookies and tracking
Analytics and advertising pixels (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) do not run before you consent through the consent banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. Strictly necessary session cookies for signing in need no consent.
Sharing with third parties
Requests for services coordinated with specialists (such as visas or interpretation) may be passed to those specialists to the extent needed to fulfil your request. We never sell your data.
